I specialise in translating half-formed ideas into brands that actually feel like the people behind them.
I work with founders and creatives who glow by their own light, and have no interest in dimming it to match the room.
If you’ve ever felt like your ideas are too layered, too personal, or too hard to explain, you’re very much in the right place.
Pull up a chair. Let’s get comfortable.
It came from a lifetime of feeling slightly out of step with the systems I was supposed to fit into, and realising that maybe the problem was never me.
I built this studio for people who felt at the fringes of the conversation because their approach was too loud, too colourful, or too ‘out there’. For the people who were taught to take up less space and sand down their sharp edges. For those who don’t see themselves reflected in traditional branding spaces, and don’t want to dilute themselves down just to be taken seriously.
To me, Miscreant holds that energy in one word. A little devious, a little cheeky, and impossible to ignore.
When you work with me, I’m not here to make you smaller or smoother. I’m interested in the edges, the quirks, the things you’ve been told are “too much” or “not quite right.” More often than not, that’s where the most compelling work begins.
From early childhood, making art, visual storytelling, and writing were how I processed the world and made sense of my ideas.
School and traditional education, even at a fine art college, never really supported how my brain works. I was bullied, misunderstood, and expected to adapt to systems that weren’t built with people like me in mind.
Even when I followed a creative path through art college and later university, the rigid structures still didn’t loosen their grip as much as I’d hoped.
But I know now that the difficult decision to drop out after 2 months and move back home wasn’t a failure on my part. It was the systems that failed me.
After finally gaining a diagnosis for ADHD and Autism, I hoped that the workplace could better adapt to my needs but I was let go under vague reasoning after disclosing my disabilities. I felt discarded for something out of my control, and it made it hard desire to find other employment.
I knew I needed to build something of my own, so I did. I created a community space for neurodivergent copywriters and learned that I love guiding people and helping them to realise their potential. It inspired me to create my own newsletter and move into working for myself.
Around the same time, I discovered the world of freelance brand design - to this day I think it was fate. I could keep my love for art, words, and strategy without sacrificing my health and all with no boss? I must have doubled up on my ADHD meds and ended up in heaven!
Miscreant Studio grew from that decision to break free from the traditional workplace. It’s where my clients and I don’t have to justify how we exist, but simply revel in what makes us ourselves. When you work with me, you’re helping me carve my own path in tandem with carving your own.
Everything I bring into my work comes from lived experience and a genuine respect for the people I collaborate with.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all branding or processes that leave you feeling more overwhelmed than when you started. My role is to listen closely, notice patterns, and ask the questions that matter.
That care shows up not just in the final product, but in how the process feels from start to finish. You’re supported, clearly guided, and never expected to have everything figured out on your own.
If you want to understand more about how we would work together, what the process looks like, and whether this approach is the right fit for you, I’ve laid it all out here.
